Disney Recap

Our trip to Disney back in December was probably our best ever family vacation. (So far of course!) The boys had a blast, and so did Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Pop-pop. I won't try to go back and recap everything, but here are some pictures with some of our favorite characters.

We met Donald Duck when we were at Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately Stephen was asleep by then.

We met Jiminy Cricket too!

And of course, no trip would be complete with out meeting Lightning McQueen at Mater.

When we visited Mickey's house in Toontown, I saw that they had the kitchen closed for remodeling. I'm not sure who his architect was; but I think they need to go back to the drawing board!

We met Donald again during Christopher's Birthday breakfast. Both Chris and Stephen said that Donald was their favorite.

And this is a few over the lake that was outside our hotel near Epcot. We had a great time, and hopefully we will get to go back again, maybe for Stephen's 5th birthday!

Long Time No Post...

Sorry we haven't posted in such a long time. No excuse except that life gets busy... Lots have happened in the last few months. Michael's had to travel some more for work, the boys have been busy at school and at home, we are all excited about Spring being here and getting outside...Here are a few highlights from the month of March.

The boys managed to both climb into my laundry basket while my back was turned. It was really funny watching them try to get out again!

We had a roof leak fixed back in the fall, and once we were sure it was good, we arranged to have the walls repaired. Daddy and Christopher did a great job priming and painting the wall. Now its as good as new.

Stephen had a lot of fun playing with Christopher's Lego's. Things got a little crazy when he started crashing them though. We had to going hunting for some missing pieces.

2nd Blizzard Feb 2010

So we had two blizzards in less than a week...We are still digging out around the house, but we are managing to make it into work.

Christopher's basketball hoop is now serving another purpose...Snow collection.

Our lamp post is more than half buried now.

And here is a pic of the flag outside the front door. Snow has blown off and settled a bit, but its still mostly buried.

Monster Jam!!!

One of the reasons why we were in VA for the first blizzard, was that 4 generations of Nunn boys were going to attend the Monster Jam show at the Roanoke Civic Center on Saturday the 6th. Poppi, Pop-pop, Uncle Kevin, Daddy, and Christopher all traveled through the end of the storm to see lots of really big trucks do spectacular tricks.

Christopher came home very tired, but he was very excited about seeing his first Monster Truck show. Maybe next time Stephen will be able to go to! (I think that Mommy will manage to be busy again! :) )

Clean-up from 1st Feb Blizzard

Michael and I headed back to MD on Sunday the 7th, leaving the boys at Grandma and Pop-pop's for the week. We weren't sure what we were going to find when we got home. Luckily we were able to drive into our neighborhood and were pleasantly surprised to find that our neighbor had used his snow blower on one lane of our driveway. Unfortunately after sitting for 24 hours, the snow had started to compact and was very heavy to move off of the rest of the driveway and walk.

When we were all done, the piles of snow weren't quite as tall as Michael, but they were higher than his waist!

I don't have any pictures yet to post for this second blizzard we are in the middle of right now; but to give you an idea of how much more snow we have gotten...See the small lawn flag I have outside of the front door just to the left of the tree? In this picture the bottom of the flag is buried in snow...If you look in our yard right now, all you can see is the top of the black metal stand.

(And yes, I know I still haven't posted about Disney yet...Maybe if I have another snow day at home!)

1st February Blizzard - at Grandma's

Michael took time to demonstrate the finer points of plowing a driveway using heavy machinery.

After the plowing, it was time to start playing. Christopher had a lot of fun sledding down Grandma's hill using the snow "boogie mat" that Aunt Amy found. He was moving fast, and spinning around. He slid frontwards, sideways, and sometimes even backwards.

Stephen liked sledding too...He thought that the only way to end a run was to "CRASH!!!" He would get halfway down and then make himself wipe out into the snow.

Mommy even gave it ago...with Stephen riding shotgun. Unfortunately he still tried to crash at the bottom of the hill.

Haulin Wood

These photos are from the snow storm we got at the end of January. We decided to bring in some wood for the stove, and the boys just had to help Daddy...One stick of wood at a time.
